Licensed Real Estate Broker and Founding Member of Madrona Real Estate Services, LLC, a brokerage, development and management company. Madrona Real Estate Services, LLC serves as a syndicator and manager of investment entities created for capital appreciation for its investors. Most recent projects include development of East Hill Village, a 32,000 sq foot retail center in Kent, WA, 1320 E Pike St a mixed-use retail and apartment building, McGilvra City Homes, two luxury residences located in Madison Park, Fidalgo Square a retail center development in Anacortes, WA, Twenty Sixty-One an ultra luxury condominium in Madison Park, Seattle, WA and seven high-end custom homes on San Juan Island, WA
Managing Member, Bellevue Farm, LLC October 1994 – September 1997
Syndicator and Manager of a Washington Limited Liability Company; Bellevue Farm, LLC. Development scope included overseeing the entitlement process of a long-plat land division of approximately 20 acres into an eight-residence sub-division. Included was the development of a Group "B" Public Water System, and creation of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions to enhance and preserve the scenic beauty and waterfront views in perpetuity. Following completion of the plat, successfully marketed and sold all eight residential lots including development and construction of six high-end residential homes both on speculation and fee-based development.
District Manager, Shurgard Capital October 1990 - January 1993
Property manager of approximately 300,000 square feet of industrial business parks, one Class "A" office building and four retail strip centers. Activities included landlord representation and supervision of all tenant improvement buildouts with an annual capital budget of $1MM. Oversaw five real estate brokers in all monthly marketing activities. Negotiated long-term NNN leases and tenant improvement allowances. Created and implemented annual common area expense budgets and oversaw annual reconciliation.
President & CEO – Rare Bird Restaurants, Inc. July 1980 – June 1990
Syndicator, creator and operator of four restaurants including a deli, tavern, and two full service restaurants with combined gross sales in excess of $4MM annually. Oversaw financial capitalization, investor relations, bank financing, concept development, lease negotiations, development/buildout, hiring and day to day operations.Directly supervised a team of four general managers, and oversaw the hiring of approximately 150 employees. Following ten years of successful operations, including a 3 star restaurant review from the Seattle Time's John Hintenberger, the restaurants were sold off individually with the real estate retained on one of the properties as a long-term investment.
